Customer Service courses are nationally recognised qualifications and are based on the Customer Service National Occupational Standards.
These qualifications require individuals to demonstrate competence against National Occupational Standards which are based on the needs of the Customer Service sector as defined by the Sector Skills Council. As such they contribute to the development of skilled labour in the sector.
There is a wide range of option units allowing learners to choose units to meet the needs of their own work role. These qualifications are work-based qualifications, which allows learners to develop knowledge, understanding and skills essential for working in a customer service environment, such as communication skills, working with others and managing and improving own performance.
Potential job roles for those working towards these qualifications are; Bank/building society customer adviser; Contact centre operator; Customer service adviser (Post Office); Customer service assistant/manager; Hotel receptionist; Local government customer services officer and Medical receptionist.
